Top rack only

Can you put travel mug lids in the dishwasher?

Most dishwasher-safe travel mug lids belong on the top rack, disassembled if possible, so gaskets and sliders can rinse and dry.

Why

Lids trap coffee oils and moisture around gaskets, sliders, and sip openings.

Caveats

  • Do not dishwash electronic, temperature-display, or self-heating lids.
  • Remove rubber gaskets when the manufacturer says they are removable.
  • Replace gaskets that smell, crack, or stay sticky.
